BROKEN LINES LAUNCH CONTEST
Here are the details! I’m holding a contest in honor of the January release of Broken Lines, the 3rd installment in the Kids Like You Series. Hattie, the series’ protagonist, found a personal hero in Martin Luther King, Jr. and she wants to know who inspires you!
Students from 4-6th grades may enter. Write a 500 word essay on your American Hero. Think about how your hero changed the face of our country and how their message continues to inspire Americans and the special meaning it holds for you. You may ask your teacher or parent to help you edit your work, but it must be your work, not theirs. The judges are former teachers (think Crackers and Beverly Jo). They’ll be looking for compelling writing, error-free masterpieces which demonstrate your best writing, full of mastery and inspiration.
The winner be announced at the launch party on Wednesday, January 18th at Heritage School in the Media Center. The party is an Open House, but if you want to be there for the announcement of the winner, be there at 6 o’clock sharp. The winner will receive a Kindle Fire and the winning essay will be published on my blog. The winner must be present to win.
GOOD LUCK!
